Thomas J. Atinson is listed in the San Francisco City Directory of 1854, had a boat building business at Maine and Market Streets in 1854, moved later to Howard and Shear Streets at 24 Howard St.
He owned a lot on Grant ave and Market St. which he sold to a builder of Hammond [illegible] for $100.00. The lot was sand dunes, he showed the Buyer the approximate location of the lot, said the lot is around here somewhere and gave him the deed. Thomas Atkinson was a witness of the Broderick-Terry duel.
