In October 2018, The Society of California Pioneers launched this online resource in correlation with the opening of the museum exhibition, Her Side of the Story: Tales of California Pioneer Women, to publish the never-before-seen book of stories written by the Association of Pioneer Women of California. This incredible document, filled with over 800 handwritten stories of California pioneer women, was bequest to the Collection of The Society of California Pioneers in 2008 by the Association’s last president. Teachers, historians, and researchers may now use this online resource to access the contents of this book, and to search through the digital transcriptions of each story to learn more about the experiences of these women and their journeys to California.
